Southwestern Consolidated School District is currently accepting enrollments for their full-time online learning program, Southwestern Virtual Academy. Recently launched via a partnership with Virtual Learning Network, the Southwestern Virtual Academy is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade living in Bartholomew, Decatur, Johnson, Rush, and Shelby Counties.
Southwestern Virtual Academy is tuition-free and provides the flexibility of online learning with a comprehensive list of benefits only a public school district can offer. Students can participate in district sports and extracurricular activities and opt for a blended schedule supplementing their online courses with a hands-on course on campus. In addition, Southwestern Virtual Academy students graduate with a Southwestern High School diploma.
Students enrolled in the program are exposed to a rigorous curriculum and are supported by Southwestern Consolidated School District teachers who provide individualized support to address each students’ unique needs and interests. As an added value, students enrolled in the program have access to the district’s onsite Learning Lab (for face-to-face support), special education, and guidance office services and have the opportunity to enroll in a Career & Technology program.
