Pick 5 displays biggest carryover in history at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino

Indiana Grand will offer the biggest carryover for any type of wager on track when racing resumes Friday, Oct. 12. The Pick 5 carryover is $46,946.59, marking a new record for carryovers at the Shelbyville, Ind. racetrack.

The Pick 5, played on the first five races at Indiana Grand, caught the attention of several horseplayers going into the Wednesday, Oct. 10 racing program with a carryover of $13,408. There were several players who selected four of five winners but no one had a perfect ticket, creating the record carryover for the Friday, Oct. 12 racing program, which begins at 2:05 p.m.

“It is exciting to have this type of carryover going into our Pick 5 for the Friday racing program,” said Jon Schuster, vice president and general manager of racing at Indiana Grand. “Anytime we can get this type of momentum going into our racing program, it really brings attention to our entire racing program. It’s just another way for us to showcase our racing here in the state of Indiana.”

The Pick 5 is a new wager added at Indiana Grand this year. It began in early July 2018.

The 16th season of Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horse racing continues through Wednesday, Nov. 7. Racing is conducted Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 2:05 p.m. with Saturday racing beginning at 6:05 p.m.
